Youth Workforce Development Program

The Affordable Housing Alliance Community Action Program (AHA-CAP) is currently accepting applications for our new Youth Workforce Development program. This program is available to Monmouth County youth between the ages of 18 and 26 that are at or below 125% of the federal poverty level. The program provides a 1 year paid internship to each student. Throughout the internship the CAP Director functions as a vocational coach, providing guidance, employment skills, and resume writing assistance. In addition, the CAP Director works closely with all employers to ensure the success of the students. Each student is required to complete an education component of program that is related to their current vocational role. Upon completion of the education component, each student will receive a pay increase from $400 per week to $500 per week. Half of each student’s salary is paid by AHA and the remainder is paid by their employer.
